My Story

As a lifelong member of the LDS church, religion and faith have always been part of my life. After getting married in the temple and having children, I wasn’t looking to change that; I took nothing but comfort in my membership.

But when my husband left the church, I began to understand that my experience wasn’t universal, and that church can be a source of pain and conflict. This new phase brought questions of my own. I noticed that sitting through meetings on Sunday was no longer comforting, but frustrating. The prescribed solution was a path of “take it or leave it.” But I wasn’t satisfied with that answer. I believed there was a middle ground where my concerns were just as valid as my faith.

My coaching practice was born from that belief. I want to encourage a community where questions and hurt are recognized as part of the whole, not something to hide in the shadows. I believe that honoring our complete experience brings about room for greater healing and learning. And I believe that you are the only one who gets to define your relationship with church.
