Parting
You are standing at the water’s edge, waves gently lapping on the sandy shore. They push and pull in a steady rhythm. In. Out. In. Out. Like the sea itself is breathing. It inhales, and the water recedes from the shore. Only this time it doesn’t return. It begins to climb, building to a wall on your left and your right, and a dry path down the middle invites you to step forward. Do you take the step?
As I sat in meditation this morning, I pictured the seas parting. There is something on my mind and heart that I want, and it also feels out of my power to do much about it. And so my meditation is my prayer. It is a prayer of gratitude for the seas that have already parted— the walls that have broken, the forgiveness offered, the hearts healed— and for the seas that will one day rise up and reveal their path. And for today, that feels like a miracle unto itself. To have a prayer, to have belief, feels like a gift. They are the light that goes before my steps.
My invitation today is simple. I invite you to join me in parting the seas. Take 30 seconds, a minute, ten minutes, whatever you can give to seeing the way made clear. What is that you want to believe in? What feels right, but impossible? Imagine that beautiful dream, and then see the water parting and creating the path that leads to it. What does it feel like to stand there, to see your dream on the other side, and know that all you have to do is keep moving? Do you take the step?

The four pillars of Spiritual Sovereignty
mental awareness • emotional intelligence • VALUE AFFIRMATION • spiritual nourishment
How you spend your time is one of the greatest indicators of what you value. Track in detail how you spend your time for a full day. What do you notice? Are you surprised by how long you did or didn't spend on anything? What do you want more time for? Are you willing to give up any time from your current schedule for it? Why or why not?
Is the friction between you and church wearing you down spiritually? It doesn't have to. Register to be a beta user in "Spiritual Sovereignty", my course for nuanced Latter-day Saints who want to make peace with church without sacrificing their personal values. You get all of my materials—videos, guides, and weekly one-on-one calls— for a fraction of the cost. In exchange, your feedback will help improve the course for future clients.
